The FA24D in the 2022+ Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86 proves that you don’t need a turbocharger to have fun. 2.4 liters of displacement, direct injection, and refined chassis dynamics make the BRZ, and its Toyota sibling, a blast on the street or the track. Luckily, the intake system on the FA24D is simple, with just one tube connecting the airbox to the throttle.----The stock induction hose is rubber and utilizes a corrugated section to allow it to flex. That corrugation causes turbulence and drastically slows the airflow into the engine, robbing power. Rubber in the engine bay is also notorious for becoming brittle and cracking over time, especially rubber that flexes every time you punch the throttle. Those cracks lead to vacuum leaks after the MAF sensor that can cause check-engine lights, misfires, and reduced power.----To solve these issues, we’ve replaced the stock corrugated rubber hose with a smooth silicone piece.
